Volvo CE Reveals New EC560 Excavator at CONEXPO 2026

2026-05-18

Volvo Construction Equipment has officially introduced the new EC560 crawler excavator during CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2026 in Las Vegas, expanding its next-generation heavy excavator lineup.

The new 56-ton excavator is designed for quarry, aggregates, mining, and large infrastructure projects. According to Volvo CE, the EC560 will support larger bucket capacity and improved production efficiency for demanding earthmoving applications.

The EC560 attracted significant attention during the exhibition as global contractors continue looking for larger and more fuel-efficient crawler excavators. Heavy equipment manufacturers are increasingly focusing on machine productivity, electro-hydraulic systems, and operator comfort as competition in the excavator market continues to intensify.

Volvo CE said the EC560 is built on the company’s next-generation excavator platform, combining updated hydraulics, a redesigned cab, and new intelligent machine technologies. The model is expected to become commercially available in early 2027.

During CONEXPO 2026, construction equipment manufacturers including Caterpillar, Komatsu, and Volvo CE continued showcasing new developments in:

  • crawler excavators

  • smart construction equipment

  • fuel-efficient hydraulic systems

  • electric construction machinery

  • machine automation technology

Industry analysts expect demand for large excavators and heavy earthmoving equipment to remain stable through 2026, especially in infrastructure, mining, and energy projects across North America and the Middle East.
